I don’t know who to trust anymore. I don’t believe I can love anymore. I thought you were honest and truthful, but as it turns out, lies pour out of you by the mouthful. This isn’t about one, but two. One I’m worried about, and the other, I believe our friendship (or lack thereof) to be through. I can’t hang out with a liar, a thief, a con. I deserve better, and you are not the one. Why did you run off? I told you what to do. Instead, you took the easy way, and I believe your life is through. The truth lies close, but very far. Out of reach, out of sight. I really hope you made it through the night. Your family will begin to worry, if you continue what you do. I’m sure that once you were perfectly fine. Sorry for the absence, I’ve been grounded…no fun. I’m back now. So yeah, I wrote this for the band me and my friend are planning on making when I get my new keyboard. The band will be called “A Ghost in the Elevator”. It will be like Alternative/Rock stuff, so keep a look out for us. I have to go study now, so bye!

I am quite the fan of undiscovered singers, so today I decided to do a bit of a feature on a few of my favorite undiscovered singers.

Nikki Malvar
Nikki Malvar is a wonderful singer, her voice is beautiful and rich. Her songs have a wonderful meaning, and are quite soothing to the ear. My personal favorite of hers would be If I Wrote A Letter to Myself. Nikki has quite a few influences, Regina Spektor, Nora Jones, and Billie Holiday are just a few.

Sick Puppies
Sick Puppies isn’t really undiscovered, they just aren’t as popular as most bands. Sick Puppies is a Rock band, but to me, they’re leaning a bit to the Alternative side of things. They are most commonly known by their song All the Same which was used in the youtube video for the Free Hugs Campaign. They should be known for more of their music than just that. My World is wonderfully made, the music and the lyrics both are quite astounding.

Ahh, got to love April fools day, folks. Today I’ve run across a few pranks on the internet, and experienced a few throughout the day. Here’s a few of my favorites.

DeviantART

All of the users on the art site, DeviantART, logged on to find their user icons replaced with an icon stating So i herd u liek mudkips?. Quite a few had troubles figuring out who they were talking to as everyone looked the same, so to say. I, personally, loved this. Because, yes, i liek mudkips.

Smosh

Today, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox of Smosh posted a video saying that they had been sued over 20 million by Pokemon. They claimed that Pokeman was still angry with the Pokemon Theme Song that had been taken down over a year ago. They claim to need money, and are selling quite a few items, such as socks, boxers, shirts, and even an old camera for thousands of dollars. This hasn’t technically been stated as a joke, but I believe it to be one.

EDIT://It has been announced that this was indeed a prank.
First of all, Nintendo would have sued them, not Pokemon, but that could have just been an error on their part. Secondly, the site doesn’t appear to be loading, perhaps the dynamic duo has something up their sleeves, such as a huge banner announcing APRIL FOOLS!. Who knows? I think it’s a prank, and a pretty dang good one, thanks for the laugh, guys.

There are quite a few other jokes out there, just surf around, see what you can find. You’ll be surprised at how many sites get into the spirit of things.

Handicapped Signs.

I can remember as a child walking through the parking lot of the grocery store and seeing little blue men on top of certain spaces. Being a mere child, I figured, ‘hey, why did they put the potty symbol out here in the middle of the parking lot?’ Which then led me to wonder why the only time you saw the ‘potty symbol’ in an actual bathroom was when it was on one of the larger stalls. Eventually I asked my questions to my mother who then explained that it was the handicapped sign, which was a huge disappointment.

Now, I begin to wonder why on earth would you do that? When I think of someone who is handicapped, I think of crutches, bandages, and possibly even the lack of an arm, or leg. Not a wheelchair. Maybe I’m just not normal, but come on, wouldn’t it make more sense to just write handicap? You’re sending us mixed symbols, folks. If you want me to know that it’s a handicap parking space, then draw a guy on the verge of death or something. Seriously.

That being said, please don’t take offense to this if you are handicapped, you must see the guy in a wheelchair as fitting for the handicap symbol, I, on the other hand, think something different would be a nice change, or maybe make the wheelchair look more like a wheelchair, rather than a toilet.

Panic at the Disco.

So recently, Panic at the Disco (now without the ‘!’), released their newest album entitled Pretty. Odd. I have to say that the name is quite fitting, the album is entirely different than anything they’ve ever done. It has an old, almost carnival-ish sound to it. A lot of the songs sound familiar, but right when you think you’ve figured out where you’ve heard it from, Panic changes it up. At first, I hated the album. I wondered how they could have done such a thing to all of their loyal fans, but after listening to it for two days straight, I am in love with it.

Yes, I still miss the old Panic, don’t get me wrong, but the lyrics on this are phenomenal, and the new sounds, are unique, something you’d expect in a Panic at the Disco album. The first song on the disk, We’re so Starving, states “You don’t have to worry, ’cause we’re still the same.” Honestly, they are. They’re just doing what they do best, switching it up and causing a Panic. So if you got the CD and immediately threw it to the back of your closet, I suggest pulling it out and REALLY listening. It’s awesome. End of story.

Sunday Afternoon.

This morning I awoke around 10 o’clock. My father asked me to play Wii tennis with him, and I consented to play. He’s quite comical when he has a Wii remote in his hand. He flails his arms around in a manner quite similar to that of a new born bird who is attempting to fly. He kicked my butt at both tennis and golf. When it comes to boxing, though, I had him beat by a long run.

Now I’m in my room, receiving the latest gossip from my friend via text message. My attempt at doing my homework has failed, I once again will procrastinate until later this evening, I suppose.

On another note, doesn’t it drive you crazy when someone argues about how horrid the world is these days when they have no idea what they’re talking about? It does me. Especially when there is no convincing them that their argument serves no purpose. Ah well.

Oh, fun. My friend is freaking out because her male dog has just been neutered, she now believes him to be a woman. Is that the same thing as having a sex change in the animal world? What a thought…

The Beginning.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of a fun, and entertaining blog for everyone. I’m looking forward to having a place to hammer out the thoughts in my head. I’m also hoping to improve my writing, perhaps not dramatically, but enough to make my English teacher proud.

So, I would be Amanda. I like to consider myself an artist, a poet, and a photographer of sorts. I’m not old enough to have a career, but I’m not young enough to find chalk amusing. So you are free to guess at my age. Perhaps it will become more apparent later on.
